Description

Drum base heater: a steel heating platform that sits under a metal drum of up to 55 gallons (210 L) and warms the contents from the bottom up. The insulated plate spreads heat evenly, and 50 mm (about 2″) of high-density rock wool inside directs heat into the drum rather than down into the floor. An adjustable thermostat can raise water up to 90°F (50°C) above its starting temperature, enough for freeze protection and for keeping viscous products flowing.

Indicator lights on the control panel show at a glance whether the unit is powered and heating. The 6.5 ft (2 m) armored power cable stands up to shop-floor wear.

Where It’s Used

Food production, chemical plants, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics facilities that need to warm drummed oils, fats, soaps, and process liquids. A base heater leaves the drum sides clear for labels, pumps, and handling equipment, and works well where a jacket would get in the way.

How It Compares

A metal drum heater jacket wraps the drum body and reaches higher temperatures. For plastic drums, use the plastic drum heater jacket. Browse drum accessories.
